Mentor-Protégé Program Terms of Agreement

Below you will find Terms of Agreement for Protégés followed by the Terms of Agreement for Mentors. Review and agree to comply with the section appropriate to your role.

Protégé Terms of Agreement

If accepted into the program, it is a requirement to pay the $100 program fee and join WIT as a member, if you are not already a current WIT member. If you are not a current WIT member, a discount code will be provided for a $100 membership (originally $115 - available to new members only). Information on how to make the program payment will be provided in the acceptance email.

Protégés are required to attend the orientation session and the four networking/speaker sessions during the mentorship term. Matches are made with a mentor each of the four months (Oct-Jan or Mar-Jun). The WIT Mentor Protégé Program expects protégés to schedule the mentoring session with the matched mentor in a timely manner, within the mentoring platform. The mentoring session can be virtual or in-person as applicable.

Program rules: • Act in good faith • Invest the time and effort required • Provide consistent communication • Maintain a positive attitude • Be eager • Listen with an open mind

Mentors and protégés will immediately contact the WIT Mentor Program Coordinator regarding any difficulties or conflicts.

Any relationship between mentor and protégé beyond the WIT sponsored Mentor-Protégé Sessions will be left to the discretion of the mentor-protégé team.

Mentors and protégés will be responsible for completing all evaluation materials and returning responses to the WIT Mentor-Protégé Program Coordinator in a timely fashion.

I understand and agree to comply with the terms outlined above and in the WIT Mentor-Protégé Program Description. I also understand and agree that neither WIT nor any mentor shall be held responsible or liable for any advice provided to me during the mentorship term.

Mentor Terms of Agreement

Each mentor will commit to attending the orientation session (Sep or Feb). If unavailable, review the recording and ask any questions.

The Program Committee assumes each mentor is available to be matched for a one-hour virtual mentoring session with a protégé each month of the program (Oct-Jan, Mar-Jun). If unavailable, the mentor alerts the matching coordinator, to prevent the unavailable mentor from being matched. Mentors may not be matched each session, even if available, due to the number of protégés.

The mentor will populate available times in the Mentornity platform to enable the protégé to schedule the mentoring session. The mentoring session can be virtual or in-person as applicable.

The mentor will assist their assigned protégé in the process of identifying or investigating a particular career field, advancement or change strategy, and/or alternative approaches to problem solving in a current field of interest to the protégé in which the mentor has specific expertise.

Any relationship between mentor and protégé beyond the WIT sponsored Mentor-Protégé Sessions will be left to the discretion of the mentor-protégé team.

Mentors are encouraged to attend the monthly virtual speaker/networking sessions and in-person events as their schedule permits. The monthly session small groups benefit from mentor participation.

Mentors and protégés will immediately contact the WIT Mentor Program Coordinator regarding any difficulties or conflicts.
