1) Tell us about yourself (via Mentornity, the software you're using right now!)

2) We will review your profile, and pair you with a Mentee/Mentor that best matches your personal and professional development goals (if you haven't received your pairing email yet, sit tight! It should be on its way very soon)

3) Meet your Mentee/Mentor to discuss professional objectives, career planning, and "day-in-the-life" insights

4) Fill out a short survey letting us know how it went, and changes you'd like to see next time

5) If you opt-in, you have the option of connecting with multiple Mentees/Mentors during your time with Trestle!

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to empower college students to make more informed career decisions through mentorship with industry professionals.

We believe there is no replacement for human interaction. No amount of job postings, company websites, or industry reading will ever compare to the knowledge that can be gained from speaking to someone directly about their career realities.

We're here to provide Mentees this "straight-from-the-source" type of career connection, and provide Mentors a platform to share insights learned from years of experience and provide opportunity for rising professionals.

ABOUT US

We are students. We are professionals. We are learners, often overwhelmed with the vast amount of information available when choosing a career path. We have spent years researching, self-reflecting, and goal-setting, and still have much more learning to do.

Throughout this process, we have come to recognize the invaluable impact of mentorship, and the irreplaceable insights that come with learning from someone’s lived experiences. We see it as our duty to pass on these insights to those that come after us.

FAQs

What is Mentornity? What do I use it for?

We use a platform called Mentornity to make this whole show possible. Mentornity will be your one-stop-shop for everything related to the Trestle Mentoring Program. Think of it as your Mentorship Command Center.

Using Mentornity, you will be able to:

  • Schedule meetings with Mentees/Mentors
  • Keep track of your mentorship meeting calendar
  • Take meeting notes
  • Join video calls directly within the Mentornity software (no need for Zoom!)
  • Give program feedback

Quick overview of the various tabs:

  • Home: Your one-stop-shop for all Trestle announcements. Come here when in doubt.
  • Feed: A real-time feed of mentoring sessions being scheduled by other Trestle Mentors and Mentees
  • Mentees (or Mentors): Here's where you'll access the profile(s) of your paired Mentee(s) (or Mentor(s)), and manage all meetings for each Mentee. Learn more about your Mentee here, and reach them directly via the direct message feature.
  • Forms: Quick surveys to fill out to let us know how we're doing, and how we can make Trestle better for you.
  • Info: General information about what we do at Trestle, and FAQs in case you get lost.

How long does the Mentee/Mentor relationship last?

  • At this stage, Trestle only facilitates one (1) mentoring session between a Mentee and a Mentor. However, participants have the flexibility to choose how long their relationships last. Mentors and mentees can also request extensions or terminate a relationship early. Mentors can ensure the program fits their schedule and mentees can adjust relationships to fit their learning style.
  • If you would like a new Mentee/Mentor, or would like additional details around how to adjust your mentorship experience, please feel free to reach out at support@trestlementors.com.

I would like to add my Mentee/Mentor experience to my LinkedIn profile. Can I do that?

  • Yes you can! Once you receive your introduction email, you are an official Trestle Mentee or Mentor - Congratulations! Feel free to add your experience as a Mentee/Mentor with Trestle Mentors to your LinkedIn profile.
