The PMI Phoenix Chapter is proud to offer members and non-members three exciting, engaging, and rewarding mentorship programs, at no additional cost, including:
This program is designed for project management professionals working in the field who need the short-term support of someone more senior. Mentees have the possibility of engaging with their mentor for a few months, in an on-demand unstructured setting, in order to reach specific personal and professional goals. Examples include: getting a resume review, reviewing your LinkedIn profile, conducting a mock job interview, career advice, creating an individual development plan, and gaining insights and recommendations on professional certifications to enhance your skillset.
Qualifications: active chapter membership in good standing.
Format: unstructured and on-demand, offered short-term, typically less than 2 months

Are you new to the the greater Phoenix area? We have an exciting new comer mentorship program and can connect you with another PMIPHX member and help welcome you to the area! Examples include: inviting you to attend chapter meetings and webinars with your mentor, attending in-person meetings together (so you are not going alone), introducing you to other chapter members and members of the board, introducing you to local connections on LinkedIn, and essentially having a local project management professional contact ! This is a great way to quick-start your networking!
Qualifications: new chapter membership within last 90 days
Format: unstructured and on-demand, offered through month 15 of initial membership.

Are you a student enrolled in a project management program at a local university? Would you like to talk to a seasoned professional project manager in the field? The academic mentorship program provides you with the opportunity to talk to a PMP who has several years of experience.
Qualifications:
1) Arizona resident with ability to attend up to two meetings in person in Phoenix during 13 week period;
2) Within two years of graduation from an accredited college or university;
3) Desire to learn about project management;
4) If selected, commitment to participate in bi-weekly meetings and complete assignments over 13 week period.
Selection Process: applicants will be invited to a 30-minute Microsoft Teams meeting and will be interviewed by a selection committee.
Format: structured and bi-weekly meetings, 13 week program offered twice a year

Last Day to Submit: March 1, 2022
Mentorship Program: April 4, 2022 - July 1, 2022

All mentorship programs are subject to volunteer availability and/or may be limited or cancelled at anytime.
1) All mentees must submit an application (using the link above).
2) Once we receive your application, all applications go through a selection and pairing process. When approved, we will invite you to create a mentee profile here.
3) For our "Academic Mentorship Program": all mentors and mentees must agree to attend two (2) virtual or in-person meetings: a formal kickoff and closeout session. The first sets the expectations for each individual week; the latter allows the chapter to gain feedback to make the program better. We may meet in person for one or both of these meetings, to be announced.
4) Mentors must be a PMI PHX chapter member, in good standing with PMI, and hold a professional certification with PMI.
